sfG software is currently looking for a Senior IT Support engineer with several years’ experience in IT Support.

sfG Software are looking for an experienced Senior IT Support Technician with at least 4 years’ experience for our busy office. We have a very friendly team, where customer service is a high priority, and we will provide training as required, leading to Microsoft certifications. Job Objectives

The successful applicant will be involved in all aspects of the IT support role for our many varied clients, from 2nd line support through to managing IT projects. The ability to work within a team as well as using your own initiative is essential. Most of the time you will be office/home based; however, there will be times where you will be required to go to a customer’s site, so your own transport is essential. The ability to bring experience and new ideas is always welcomed and supported.

There is a mandatory rota for out of hours cover (1 week/weekend in every 2 months) 7am – 8pm only.

We believe that people skills are just as important as technical skills, so we are not looking for technical experts who want to sit in a dark room. We need people who can communicate well with our customers and who can explain technical issues in very simple terms. We need people whose values fit with our own ‘friendly’ values!

Required Knowledge and Skills

  • Minimum of 4 years’ experience of delivering IT Support
  • Excellent customer facing skills
  • Strong server knowledge – Server 2008/2012/2016/2019 – maintenance/problem solving/migrations etc
  • Advanced Networking skills/routers/VPN/VLANs
  • Microsoft Azure experience
  • Hyper-V virtualization/replication
  • All aspects of Office 365 Administration/SharePoint/OneDrive /Licencing, including migration
  • Confident with PowerShell

Additional Skills which would be advantageous

  • Cyber Essentials / PCI Compliance
